Learn To Fly

Learning to fly will be one of the most rewarding endeavors of your life. At Sevier County Aviation our goal is to create the safest, most competent pilots whether you want a private pilot’s license or a career in aviation.

WE'RE SMALL.

Sevier County Aviation is a small FAR Part 61 and 141 flight school that was founded on one simple principal; to help people pursue their passion for flying. By keeping our school small we can focus on ensuring each student gets the one on one attention they need to become a successful, safe pilot.

WE FOCUS ON YOU.

We offer some of the most competitive flight training rates in the country. We work with each individual to stay on track and ensure the most efficient, safe, and budget friendly path to achieving your flying goals.

INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS TO WEEKEND WARRIORS

Whether you want to pursue a rewarding career in aviation or just want to earn a private pilot's license for fun, we can help you achieve those goals. We offer a range from one time discovery flights to our Professional Pilot Program to fit all training needs.

TOP NOTCH MAINTENANCE

Our partner company, Sevier County Choppers, is one of the premiere Robinson Helicopter overhaul facilities in the country. We have a full staff of mechanics eager to not only teach, but keep our helicopters flying safely with minimal down time.

Professional Pilot Program

This is the crown jewel of our flight school. Students in this program earn all certificates and ratings to become Certified Flight Instructors with Instrument rating (CFII) in 6 months.

MAKING PROFESSIONAL PILOTS

Costs

The average total cost for the program is $75,000 – $80,000.

GETTING STARTED IN A CAREER IN HELICOPTERS

More information

Answers to some frequently asked questions.

No. We offer all levels of flight training from one time discovery flights to our full time program and everything in between. Whether pursuing an add on rating or a career in avation, we can train you.

If starting your helicopter career is your goal, the professional program is highly recommended since we guarantee a CFI/tour pilot position upon completion.

The professional program is self paced, however finishing in 6 months is a full time task. Many students choose to fly 6-7 days a week and typically dedicate at least 5 days each week to being at the school full time to keep pace with written test and practical exams.

We have instructors available 7 days per week.

Part 141 schools are more strictly regulated by the FAA. We adhere to a FAA approved syllabus and training course. 141 training opens up VA funding benefits and some other potential loans or financial aid.

Part 61 training is more flexible and doesn’t require a syllabus and training course be followed as closely.

There is certainly a shortage of experienced pilots. Securing a job with 200 hours is still pretty difficult. Most career positions require anywhere from 1,500-2,000 hours. Thats why we guarantee our professional pilot program students a job. After working as a CFI for 6 months (and reaching approximately 500 hours) many students elect to attend Bell Training Academy, and work for our partners flying Bell 206’s to begin building turbine time.
