GETTING STARTED IN A CAREER IN AIRPLANES

More information

Answers to some frequently asked questions.

It takes approximately 3-6 months for a PPL, however training time period can be shortened depending on how many days a week you train.

Cessna 172RG

  • $250/hr with Instructor
  • $195/hr Solo

Socata TB-9 Tampico

  • $230/hr with Instructor
  • $175/hr Solo

You will be scheduled to fly on your first day for flight training. We recommend you train at least twice a week to maintain proficiency, but you are welcome to train as many days as needed based on plane availability. Flight training will consist of a pre-ground briefing, flight training, and post briefing. Your instructor will also conduct ground school lessons to familiarize you with FAA standardization and aircraft knowledge.

The 172 RG Cutlass is a complex high wing 180 horsepower Cessna with a variable pitch propeller, and retractable landing gears. Prior to soloing the student will receive a complex endorsement.

The process begins with ground school and flight training, written exam, oral exam, and finally the flight test.

Your instructor will go over what to bring on your first day, we do recommend you get a third class FAA medical prior to your first solo flight.
